Shy Love
Shy Love (aka Shy Luv), born November 27, 1978 is the stage name of a Jewish Sicilian/Puerto Rican pornographic actress. She has been active in the American porn industry since 2003.
Early years
Love was born in Wiesbaden, Germany as her father was in the United States Army and stationed there. At age 7, Shy, along with her parents and her five sisters, relocated to New Haven, Connecticut. She graduated from high school at age 16 and earned both a bachelor’s and a master’s degree in accounting. She is a certified public accountant.
Personal life
Love revealed on May 11, 2006 on the Howard Stern Show that while she was raised as a Catholic, she converted to Judaism later in life. She also stated that she was married and would like to have children in the near future. During an interview with Gamelink in 2007, she claimed to be in an open relationship with a man whom she said was only the third real relationship she had ever had with a man, of which she claims is her husband.
Shy’s Success Story
My success was not overnight. I gave my endeavors lots of time, effort, and sweat before seeing things come to fruition. The simple truth is that the majority of us are simply not born leaders, but become leaders by who we are and the actions we take. As I was growing up my dad made sure that I spent time with him at his stores. He taught me how to do business and make money. When I went to college I knew I wanted to work with money so the perfect job was accounting. Accounting gave me the knowledge to save and invest money and not give so much of it to Uncle Sam. But, my true knowledge in business came from watching the men that surrounded me. They had traits that made them what they are. They were respected by their peers. They trusted their own judgment. They always put an action plan together and followed it regardless of the effects on others. They were not afraid to be creative and envision what their success could give them. They never gave up regardless of hardships.
The adult business is a whole other situation. I came into it for all the wrong reasons and stayed in for all the right reasons. When I came into porn it was because I was bored with my current lifestyle but when I got in I saw all the opportunities to succeed and make money. Where most girls go wrong is that they come in and allow agents to dictate their lives and what they are going to do. Scene after scene after scene… I, on the other hand, was stronger than my agent. I came in realizing what my action plans were. I wanted to make a name for myself. I wanted to direct and produce. I was told by many it would not happen and I would not succeed, so I fought and learned to think like the successful men in adult. In this business it’s great to be a woman (beautiful, sexy, and smart) but it’s best to think like a man.
Adult film career
In addition to starring in porn, Shy Love has become a producer, director, and talent manager. Shy Love has appeared in more than 250 adult films, and has appeared as herself on TV several times. Starting in 2004 she began directing and producing films. She started her own talent agency, Adult Talent Managers, and signed Memphis Monroe, and Lisa Daniels as contract girls. Shy claims that her company’s representation of gay men in addition to women is unique in the industry.
She is part-owner of a nightclub in Colorado Springs called 13 Pure, which opened up in January 2008. In August 2008, she worked on a controversial bisexual film directed by Chi Chi LaRue titled Shifting Gears. LaRue coined the term straight-for-pay (a play on word for gay-for-pay), to reference performer Blake Riley’s first encounter with a woman (Love) and liking it.
